LEGAL
Client Terms
Last updated: 27 September 2026
1When these terms apply
These Client Terms apply when you book a private consultation call, pay any fee, or are onboarded as a client of The Debt Rescuers Advisory LLP, LLPIN ADA-7301, GSTIN 07ABAFT5930H1Z6, A-230 A, Chhattarpur Enclave Phase-II, New Delhi-110074 (“The Debt Rescuers”, “TDR”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
They apply together with our Terms of Use (/terms), Privacy Policy (/privacy-policy) and, when you use our AI assistant, the Rescuer Assist Terms (/rescuer-assist-terms). You accept these terms when you tick the box at booking or onboarding, or when you pay.
Please read them carefully. If anything is unclear, ask us before you pay.
2What TDR does
Our services are advisory, coordination and financial education. In practice, this means we:
help you understand your loans, EMIs, credit report and recovery situation;
help you organise your documents and keep a record of what is happening;
explain the options that may be open to you and their trade-offs, so you can decide;
coordinate your matter, including arranging an independent panel advocate where your matter needs legal help; and
offer money coaching, such as the Rebuild Plan, to help you stay on track.
3What TDR is not
TDR is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Legal advice, legal opinions, legal notices and representation before any court, tribunal or forum are provided only by independent advocates, under their own professional responsibility. TDR never sends a legal notice in its own name.
TDR is not a lender, bank, NBFC or Asset Reconstruction Company. We do not lend money, buy or take over loans, or collect repayments for any lender. We do not offer debt restructuring or debt consolidation, and we do not recommend investments, insurance or tax products.
4The scope of our services
What we do for you depends on the service you choose. Before any paid service beyond the private call, we will confirm its scope in writing through the client portal or by email, including what is included, what is not, and the fee.
Depending on your service, it may include:
Onboarding: a detailed review of your income, loans, EMIs and interest, with your documents.
Debt Health Score and resolution roadmap: a score and a personalised roadmap. Our team reviews every roadmap before you see it. The roadmap is guidance to help you decide, not a promise of any result.
Client portal: a secure space for your documents, case timeline, messages, call bookings, payments and notices received.
Rescuer Assist: our AI assistant for general information, available inside the portal.
Advocate support: where your matter needs legal help, coordination with an independent panel advocate.
The Rebuild Plan: a spending plan, a buffer goal, borrowing rules and regular check-ins.
Anything not confirmed in writing is not part of your service.
5The private consultation call
The private consultation call is a short video call with a member of our team. It helps you understand your situation, your options and the trade-offs, before you decide anything.
The fee is shown before you book. You see the fee on screen before you pay. You pay the fee shown at booking, and nothing more for the call.
Launch price. During the Limited-Time October Offer, the call is offered at a launch price on bookings paid between 1 and 31 October 2026 (IST). From 1 November 2026 the standard fee applies and is shown on screen before you book. A call booked and paid during October keeps the offer price even if it takes place in November.
Adjusted against later fees. If you continue with us after the call, the amount you paid for the call is adjusted against the fees for your next service.
What the call is not. The call is not legal advice and not a promise of any outcome. If your matter needs legal help, we will explain how an independent panel advocate can be arranged.
After you pay, you choose a time slot and receive a video-call link issued by TDR.
6Independent panel advocates
Where your matter needs legal help, we assign an advocate from our panel of verified, independent advocates.
Independence. Each panel advocate is enrolled with a State Bar Council and works independently. Their professional duties run to you. TDR does not control their legal advice or professional judgement.
Who your advocate is. On portal screens, your advocate is shown by a Partner ID. Their full name and enrolment number are given to you in the engagement confirmation, on every document they sign, and at any time on request.
Engagement confirmation. When an advocate is assigned, you receive an engagement confirmation through the portal showing the advocate’s name, enrolment number and the scope of their work. If your matter goes to a court or forum, a vakalatnama will be signed as required.
How you communicate. All contact with your advocate runs through the TDR portal, video-call links issued by TDR, and your TDR case coordinator. Advocates’ personal phone numbers, email addresses and office addresses are not shared.
If you are not comfortable. If you have a concern about the advocate assigned, tell your case coordinator before the consultation and we will try to assign another panel advocate.
Your right to choose. You are always free to choose, consult or engage any advocate you wish, whether or not they are on our panel. Nothing in these terms limits that right.
7Fees and invoices
Every fee is shown to you before you pay. We do not charge hidden fees.
Where your service includes advocate work, your checkout and your invoice show two separate lines:
| Line on your invoice | Who supplies the service | Where the money goes |
|---|---|---|
| TDR advisory & coordination fee | TDR (assessment, case coordination, platform) | TDR |
| Advocate professional fee, collected on behalf of the panel advocate assigned to your matter | The independent advocate assigned to your matter | Held by TDR and paid to that advocate in full |
One standard advocate fee per matter type. The advocate fee for each type of matter, such as a video consultation or notice drafting, is the same whichever panel advocate is assigned.
No cut. TDR keeps no part of the advocate fee. TDR’s own fee is charged only to you and is never deducted from the advocate’s fee. Advocates pay TDR no commission, referral fee or listing fee.
GST. GST is charged on TDR’s advisory and coordination fee at the applicable rate. The advocate fee is shown separately and is treated for GST as the law requires for legal services by an advocate.
Invoices. You receive a tax invoice for every payment, available in the client portal.
8Your authority for TDR to collect and hold the advocate fee
By paying a fee that includes an advocate professional fee, you authorise TDR, in writing, to act as your agent to:
collect the advocate professional fee from you, on behalf of the panel advocate TDR assigns to your matter;
hold it in a separate bank account used only for advocate fees, and not use it for TDR’s own expenses; and
pay it, in full and without any deduction by TDR, to the assigned advocate after the consultation or work is delivered.
TDR incurs the advocate fee only as your agent and does not use the advocate’s service itself. The exact amount collected is the amount paid to the advocate. If tax must be deducted at source on the payout, it is deposited against the advocate’s PAN and counts as part of the fee paid to them.
If the advocate’s work does not go ahead, the advocate fee is refunded to you as set out in clause 10.
9How you pay
You pay only through TDR’s payment gateway on our website or client portal, or to TDR’s business bank account shown on your invoice. We do not accept cash. No one from TDR or our panel will ever ask you to pay into a personal account.
TDR does not collect or pass on repayments to your lenders. Any payment to a lender must be made directly to that lender through its official channels.
10Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
PRIVATE CONSULTATION CALL
Cancel 24 hours or more before the call: full refund.
Cancel less than 24 hours before the call, or miss it without notice: the fee is not refundable, but you may ask to reschedule once.
Reschedule: you may reschedule once free of charge, if you ask at least 24 hours before the call. Further changes are at our discretion.
If we cancel or cannot hold the call: you may choose a new time or a full refund.
SERVICES THAT INCLUDE ADVOCATE WORK
Before an advocate is assigned, or before the advocate consultation takes place: the advocate professional fee is refunded to you in full from the held account.
After the consultation or work is delivered: the advocate fee has been paid to the advocate and is not refundable by TDR.
TDR’s advisory and coordination fee: refunded in proportion to any part of the service we have not yet started, unless your written scope says otherwise.
HOW REFUNDS ARE PAID
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We start the refund within 7 working days of approving it. Your bank or card issuer may take a few more days to show it.
To cancel or reschedule, use the client portal or contact your case coordinator.
11No guarantees
Lenders, courts and credit bureaus make their own decisions. We will do our work with care, but we cannot and do not guarantee any settlement, waiver, reduction, lender approval, change in credit score, end to recovery calls, or any legal result. Any option we explain may or may not be available; that depends on your lender and your account.
12Your responsibilities
To help us help you, you agree to:
give us true, complete and up-to-date information and documents, and tell us promptly when something changes, such as a new notice, a missed payment or a change in income;
keep paying your lenders where you are able to, and not stop payments because you are working with us;
keep responding to your lenders and to any notice you receive; do not ignore or avoid them;
keep copies of your documents and a record of recovery calls and messages;
attend booked calls on time or give notice if you cannot;
read documents before you sign them, and ask questions when anything is unclear; and
treat our team and panel advocates with courtesy.
If the information you give us is false or incomplete, our guidance may be wrong, and we may end our services.
13Confidentiality
We keep your information confidential. Only the people who need it for your matter can see it: you, your TDR case team and, with your consent, the panel advocate assigned to you. Panel advocates are bound by confidentiality through their professional duties and their agreement with us.
We do not share your information with lenders, recovery agencies or anyone else without your written consent, except where the law requires it.
14Your personal data
We handle your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and as explained in our Privacy Policy. In short:
we collect only what we need to provide your service, and we tell you why;
we share your case information with an assigned advocate only with your consent;
your data is stored securely, encrypted in transit and at rest, and hosted in India;
you can ask to see, correct or erase your data, withdraw your consent, and nominate someone to act for you, subject to records we must keep by law; and
we keep your data only as long as our Privacy Policy states.
15How we communicate with you
With your consent, we contact you by phone, WhatsApp, SMS, email and the client portal about your enquiry and your matter. We call between 9 AM and 7 PM unless you ask otherwise. Calls with our team may be recorded for quality and record-keeping; we will tell you at the start of the call.
Important updates, such as your engagement confirmation, invoices and refund decisions, are sent through the portal and by email or WhatsApp. You can change how we contact you, or stop marketing messages, at any time.
16The client portal and Rescuer Assist
After onboarding, you get access to the TDR client portal at app.thedebtrescuers.com. You sign in with a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
Keep your phone secure and do not share your OTP with anyone, including anyone who says they are from TDR.
Upload only documents that relate to your matter.
Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used your account.
Rescuer Assist, our AI assistant inside the portal, gives general information only and is not legal advice. Its use is covered by the Rescuer Assist Terms (/rescuer-assist-terms).
17Ending our services
You may stop our services at any time by telling your case coordinator. Refunds, if any, follow clause 10.
We may pause or end our services, with notice, if you give false information, act abusively, ask us to do something unlawful or unethical, or do not pay fees that are due. If we end our services for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund fees for work we have not started.
When services end, you can download your documents from the portal. We keep records as our Privacy Policy and the law require.
18Our liability
We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. To the extent allowed by law:
TDR is not responsible for the legal advice, opinions or work of an independent advocate, who is professionally responsible for their own work;
TDR is not responsible for decisions made by lenders, courts, credit bureaus or other third parties;
TDR is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss; and
TDR’s total liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the TDR advisory and coordination fees you paid for that service.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
19Complaints and grievances
If something has gone wrong, please tell us. Start with your case coordinator. If you are not satisfied, write to our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer: The Debt Rescuers
Email: grievance@thedebtrescuers.com
Post: The Debt Rescuers Advisory LLP, A-230 A, Chhattarpur Enclave Phase-II, New Delhi 110074
We acknowledge every complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Consumer Commission with jurisdiction. A complaint about an advocate’s professional conduct may also be made to the State Bar Council where the advocate is enrolled.
20Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or our services.
21Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a service is the one in force when you paid for it, unless a change is required by law. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms last changed.
