Questions About
How It Works
What is the very first step I should take?
The first step is booking a ₹499 private legal consultation. This is a 15-minute video call with a qualified legal professional who will assess your specific situation and tell you exactly what applies to you. You do not need any documents ready, just know your approximate outstanding debt and whether you've missed EMIs. Everything starts from there.
Do I need to speak to my bank or lender at any point?
No. Once you are represented by The Debt Rescuers, all communication with your banks, NBFCs, and recovery agents is handled by your legal professional. If a lender calls you directly during the resolution phase, you simply tell them you have legal representation and direct them to contact your professional. You should not negotiate or make any commitments independently during this period.
What happens if a bank sends me a legal notice or court summons?
Forward it immediately to your legal professional. They respond on your behalf, assess whether it is a genuine legal proceeding or a pressure tactic (many legal notices from banks are the latter), and advise you on the appropriate response. You are never alone in facing lender legal action, this is exactly what the representation covers.
Can I start the process if I am still paying EMIs (not defaulted)?
Yes. If you are still paying EMIs but the combined burden is unmanageable, debt consolidation may be the right approach, which does not require default and has minimal CIBIL impact. Your legal professional will assess whether consolidation, settlement, or a combination is right for your situation during the consultation. Do not stop EMI payments without legal guidance.
What if the lender refuses to settle?
Some lenders are more difficult than others, and some accounts do not settle on the first attempt. Your legal professional escalates through formal complaint channels (RBI Ombudsman), cites applicable regulations, and maintains negotiation pressure. If, after exhausting all legal options, no settlement is reached, you do not pay the success fee. Only the minimal onboarding fee is non-refundable as it covers the legal assessment and representation work done.
How is the fees structured? What exactly do I pay?
You pay ₹499 for the legal consultation. If you choose to enrol in the full program, a minimal onboarding fee applies, disclosed fully before you commit. The success fee is a small percentage of what we actually save you. So if we settle a ₹10 lakh debt for ₹4.5 lakhs, our success fee is a percentage of the ₹5.5 lakhs you saved. Every number is shared in writing before you pay anything beyond ₹499.
